233Connect denies Lil Wayne in Ghana concert

233Connect, the event organizers that brought international acts such as Mario, Fabolous, T-Pain and other to perform live in Ghana,  has debunked a publication suggesting that the outfit is all set to organize a musical concert next month, with American hip hop act Lil Wayne as the main headline act.
The publication, originating from an entertainment blog xclusivegh, sparked a sequence of wild rumours on various social media platforms, with most music fans calling in to inquire about the veracity or otherwise, causing 233Connect a lot of damage.
“It is not true that we are bringing down Lil Wayne for a concert in March. This is a false publication that shouldn’t be taken serious. It is important to note that while the blog wanted the whole world to know that it had an exclusive story, no official/representative of 233Connect was communicated to or asked about the truth or otherwise. This is purely a figment of the website, and we ask all music lovers and keen admirers of 233Connect to treat it with all the contempt it deserves,” Publicist for 233Connect, Obed Boafo said.
“In as much as we cannot determine what goes on these blogs, responsible journalism demands courtesy to persons whom some of these stories might affect. This is something the blog didn’t do,” he added.

Stephanie Benson features Vodafone Icons contestants in her new video

Ghanaian international singer, Stephanie Benson is out with a new single off her upcoming collaborative project with young and talented musicians in Ghana. The singer who stole the hearts of many Ghanaians as a judge on ‘Vodafone Icons: Divas Edition’ last year, features some of the groups from the reality TV show in her new music video for ‘Falling in Love’ featuring Malaika.
The video features some members of the groups, Diamonds, Kolours, Kyses, Eboni and Keshi 3; some of whom also did backing vocals on the song.  Stephanie, a gifted vocalist and performer who has performed mostly in Europe throughout her 20-year career, is also currently in the finishing stages of her studio collaboration with these contestants from the Icons reality TV show.
The video for ‘Falling in Love’ shows a colourful blend of African dance and costuming that reflects the energetic high tempo song with an interesting twist to the genre of music that Stephanie Benson is acclaimed for. The video which was directed by Abraham Ohene-Djan, also sees Stephanie trying to do the famous Azonto dance, and features the adorable son of Ghanaian rapper, Okyeame Kwame, showing some swag!!!

Known for her unique sense of style and glamorous costumes on stage and sometimes borderline controversial outfits that are custom-made by Jenny Packham (one of England’s’ High Society top designers, who has dressed stars like Katy Perry, Sandra Bullock and Kate Middleton), Stephanie Benson equally looked alluring in the video for ‘Falling In Love’, dressed by young and buzzing Ghanaian designer, Kayda Nana Afriyie of KNAF Couture.
According to Stephanie, this is the lead single to an exciting forthcoming project that was recorded at Scratch Studios, engineered by Freeman and produced by Malaika, who features on ‘Falling In Love’.  She comments: “This collaboration came about after the Vodafone Icons project ended and I realized some of the talented girls who didn’t win were still enthusiastic to pursue their dreams and needed a boost in their quest to become musicians hence my decision to work with these talented ladies.”

Fashion 101 gives Jackie Appiah and Yvonne Nelson thumbs up!

Last weekend, the ‘Star Style’ segment of Fashion 101 (Episode 3) saw two of Ghana’s favourite actresses, Yvonne Nelson and Jackie Appiah display some good sense of fashion which earned them very good reviews from ever critical fashion policing panel.
Both Jackie and Yvonne were given thumbs up for the choice of style of their outfits to the nominations party of the Ghana Movie Awards. Guest panelist, Jon Germain who coincidentally has been rumoured to have dated Yvonne Nelson, found absolutely nothing wrong with the actress’ mini dress. The two other panel members, Linda Annan and Chester Anie simply liked the colour combination of Jackie’s attire, a pant suit and a camisole. However, Linda would have rather had her wear the camisole without the jacket. But in all, all panel members as well as host Sandra, agreed that of the list of pictures that came up for mentioning on the show, Jackie’s rocked the most!

Another Ghanaian actor Majid Michel wowed the panel members with his great sense of fashion. Fellow actor/director Ruffy Samuel of “Honey Coochi Coochii” fame got it all figured out according to Chester, while Jon wondered what inspired his choice of attire, in what looked like according to him “a carrot jacket”.
Again, Fashion 101 was at the red carpet of the Ghana Movie Awards, and interviewed some celebrities including Chris Attoh, Helen Asante, Benny Blanco, Vicky Zugah, Stacy Amoateng and Rahim Banda among others, on what they were wearing and the names behind them.
The makeover segment, also had fashion designer Ajepomaa, give Nana, a young lady, a stunning transformation. Fashion 101 airs every Saturday at 8:30 am on TV3.
